Had more fun playing this game than a lot of other full priced AAA titles. Thanks for your input if you take the time to reply ^^ I know there are some Nintendo restrictions on pricing when it comes to digital retail games but I really hope all future episodic games don't get screwed by some odd retail restrictions. Then you could sell ep 2-4 for $20 as DLC. I think renaming the current e-shop release as a complete edition and releasing ep 1 for $10 would be much more appealing. Should you offer a lower price tier alternative? Currently you're really beaten by Shovel Knight because of their standalone episode plus I bet many new players are comparing this to Völgarr(!) I was really boggled when I saw your price on e-shop being double what I expected and came here to see what's up. The version on Steam is now the same engine as the Switch version. We could have kept the price low if we would've just done the rest of the project ourselves, but it would've taken us even longer since our core team is just two people, and we wanted the game to be nicely polished and released on consoles as well. There's also many more features included in the final version of the game, including secret content, local co-op, and the game has been updated to a new engine with things like improved camera rigging. Custom art from a Japanese legend, a physical release on Switch, lots of additional manpower on their end with programming and QA testing to meet the deadline. Partnering with Nicalis meant a lot of additional things that slowly added up. Originally posted by jeffthatnoise:I can understand the concern about price for sure.
